RetroCrush Adds Naruto, Bleach & Hunter x Hunter in VIZ Media Deal
Cineverse's classic-anime streaming service RetroCrush has licensed a package of films and TV series from VIZ Media, adding Naruto, Bleach, Hunter x Hunter and Sailor Moon to the platform for the first time. The deal was announced the week of August 27, 2026, timed to Anime NYC. This is a streaming beat, not a merch drop — but it points collectors straight back to the franchises worth building shelves around.
Below is the full confirmed title list, why the deal matters for fans outside Japan, and what RetroCrush actually is.
What RetroCrush added from VIZ Media
The package mixes theatrical films with full TV series. Every title lands on RetroCrush's subscription (SVoD) tier. These are the titles named in the announcement:
| Type | Title |
|---|---|
| Film | Naruto the Movie: Ninja Clash in the Land of Snow |
| Film | BLEACH: Hell Verse |
| Film | Hunter x Hunter: Phantom Rouge |
| Film | Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon R Movie |
| TV series | Hikaru no Go |
| TV series | Captain Tsubasa |
| TV series | Captain Tsubasa: Junior Youth Arc |
| TV series | Accel World |
| TV series | Vampire Knight |
It is the first time these VIZ Media franchises have appeared on RetroCrush. The service says it now carries more than 200 series and films focused on what it calls the golden age of anime.

Why this matters for classic-anime fans
For overseas viewers, older anime films are often the hardest to watch legally — they drift off streaming services and rarely get physical releases outside Japan. Pulling four of them onto one platform, alongside long-running series like Captain Tsubasa and Hikaru no Go, closes a real gap.
The timing is deliberate. RetroCrush announced the deal around Anime NYC 2026, the same weekend a wave of new-series news broke. For a full rundown of what else was revealed that weekend, see our Anime NYC 2026 announcements recap.
Three of the four films sit next to franchises that are very much alive in 2026. Naruto is building toward its anniversary anime, revealed at its NYCC 2026 “What's Next?” panel; Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War is still rolling out, most recently with Blood Chains Ichigo; and Hunter x Hunter merch keeps coming, including the Greed Island 2 Ichiban Kuji. Revisiting the early films is a natural on-ramp before the new material.

What is RetroCrush?
RetroCrush is a Cineverse-owned anime streaming service built around classic, pre-2010s titles rather than the current simulcast season. It runs both a paid subscription (SVoD) tier and a free ad-supported (FAST) channel, and the new VIZ Media films and series arrive on the subscription side.

Akibato doesn't stock Naruto, Bleach or Hunter x Hunter lines directly, but fans of these long-running Jump classics tend to collect the same shelf. If a rewatch has you in the mood, our One Piece figures and gashapon cover the same era of shonen, and the Ichiban Kuji collection is where the premium franchise figures land — both ship worldwide.
