Ghost in the Shell Ichiban Kuji: Motoko Kusanagi & Fuchikoma Lead the September 2026 Lottery

Bandai Spirits has confirmed a new Ichiban Kuji lottery for Ghost in the Shell THE GHOST IN THE SHELL, the 2026 anime that began airing in Japan on July 7. The prize series launches September 26, 2026, and its headline figure pairs Major Motoko Kusanagi with a Fuchikoma think-tank — a combination longtime fans of the franchise will recognize instantly. For collectors of cyberpunk anime figures, it is one of the more distinctive Ichiban Kuji lineups of the season.

What the Ghost in the Shell Ichiban Kuji includes

Ichiban Kuji is Bandai Spirits' "no-loss" prize lottery: every draw wins a physical prize, so there are no blanks. Each pull for this set is priced at 850 yen. The confirmed structure runs from an A Prize down through an H Prize, plus a Last One Prize awarded to whoever draws the final ticket at a given store.

  • A Prize: a Motoko Kusanagi & Fuchikoma figure, shown in bare-faced and goggle variations.
  • Last One Prize: a special-color Motoko Kusanagi & Fuchikoma figure, with yellow and gold tones on the Major and light blue on the Fuchikoma.
  • B through H Prizes: not yet revealed by Bandai Spirits at announcement.

Both the standard A Prize and the Last One Prize center on the same Kusanagi-and-Fuchikoma pairing, which means the figure at the heart of this lottery comes in more than one finish — a detail worth noting for collectors who like to chase variant colorways.

Why this pairing matters to collectors

Ghost in the Shell has been a touchstone of Japanese cyberpunk since Masamune Shirow's original manga, and Motoko Kusanagi is one of anime's most-referenced protagonists. The Fuchikoma — the spider-like, semi-autonomous tank from the manga and earlier adaptations — is a fan favorite in its own right, and seeing it modeled alongside the Major gives this prize figure more visual character than a solo bust would. A new anime adaptation typically pushes demand for its lead characters' merchandise, and Ghost in the Shell figures tend to hold collector interest well beyond a single broadcast season.

Because Ichiban Kuji prizes are distributed through a limited lottery rather than open-stock retail, popular A and Last One figures often become harder to find once the in-store run ends. Fans outside Japan usually rely on export-friendly shops to track these prizes down after release.
