Evangelion Ichiban Kuji '序' (August 2026): The Unit-01, Rei, and Misato Figures Collectors Should Know

BANDAI SPIRITS is releasing a new Ichiban Kuji lottery based on Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone (the Rebuild film subtitled Jo) from August 29, 2026, priced at ¥790 per draw. It rolls out at Seven-Eleven, Ito-Yokado, Yume Town and the official EVANGELION STORE, and it is a figure-heavy set: the top five tiers are all sculpted characters, led by a Unit-01 that runs roughly 49cm in total length. For a franchise that just marked its 30th anniversary, it lands as one of the most collector-focused Eva prize sets in a while.

The full prize lineup

Every announced tier ties back to memorable moments from the first Rebuild film. According to the reveals from Inside Games and HOBBY Watch, the set breaks down like this:

  • A Prize – Evangelion Unit-01: posed mid-"Operation Yashima," bracing the positron sniper rifle, at roughly 49cm total length.
  • B Prize – Rei Ayanami: the quiet "I think you should just smile" scene, presented with entry-plug interior detailing.
  • C Prize – Misato Katsuragi: a relaxed home-wear figure that fans have singled out as a highlight.
  • D Prize – Pen Pen: the Katsuragi household's warm-water penguin, fresh out of the bath.
  • E Prize – the Sixth Angel (Ramiel): the crystalline Angel from the Operation Yashima sequence.
  • F–H Prizes: glow-in-the-dark rubber coasters, newly drawn metallic A3 posters, and A4 clear-file sets – several with selectable designs.
  • Last One Prize: a special metallic-finish Unit-01, sharing the A Prize's dimensions.

A Double Chance campaign gives buyers an extra shot at the Last One figure. Figure sizes reported alongside the reveal run from about 8cm (Pen Pen) up to the flagship Unit-01.

Why this set matters

Operation Yashima is one of the most-cited set pieces in the entire Rebuild tetralogy – a whole-of-Japan power grab to fire a single positron round at Ramiel. Building a diorama that pairs the A Prize Unit-01 with the E Prize Angel effectively recreates that shot on a shelf, which is exactly the kind of scene-based curation Ichiban Kuji does well. It also arrives during an extended run of 30th-anniversary Evangelion activity that has kept the series visible well into 2026, so demand for Eva prize figures has stayed unusually strong.

Because Ichiban Kuji prizes are lottery-exclusive, they are not sold as normal boxed figures – once a run sells through in Japan, the secondary market is the only route, and popular tiers like the Unit-01 and Rei figures tend to be the first to disappear.

What collectors should chase

If you are buying to display, the A Prize Unit-01 and the Last One metallic variant are the marquee pieces, while the Rei and Misato figures are the character draws most likely to spike in demand. If you are buying to complete a set, don't sleep on the selectable F–H goods: glow coasters and metallic posters are cheap to overlook now and awkward to source later. As always with kuji, confirm which prize tiers a listing actually includes before you commit – "full set" and "Last One" are very different things.
